Weekly Update 107

It's another "business as usual" week; past events, upcoming events, major security news, someone forgetting to renew a certificate and a new Pluralsight course. Actually, thinking about it more, this is possibly the most normal week I can remember, which is kinda disconcerting considering the (potential) impact of some of that news.

Next week I'll be back in the US and in Texas so the schedule may be a little erratic, but I'll do what I can to pump out another update on time and with more of the usual craziness this industry is full of.

  1. One of the kids blogs I referred to was Eve Cogan's (this is a great example of a kid carving out a great social profile)
  2. Same again for her sister Ruby (IMHO, both these kids show a huge amount of maturity in their online identities)
  3. I'm at Texas Cyber Summit in San Antonio next Friday (time for "the other side of the world" again)
  4. And at Dev Fest Weekend in Dallas the day after (and then holidaying with the Mrs)
  5. The EV cert for crt.sh expired before a new one was in place (the irony being that Comodo's EV issuance process delayed a new cert when a DV one could have been issued near instantly)
  6. It's a new free Pluralsight course! (tech changes - security changes - keep abreast of it by embracing a security culture of continual change)
  7. DigiCert is this week's blog sponsor and they're talking about the impact of quantum computing on RSA and elliptic curve crypto (big thanks to those guys for their ongoing support)
